Chances are, at some point, your child will meet someone at school or in a community who has a disability. It is normal for children to have questions about people who are different, which means parents should be prepared to answer their questions.  Everyone Is Different ~ But The Same All of us have unique gifts, personalities and challenges. No two people are teh same and this is a great thing because diversity makes life interesting and fun. While we are all different, everyone has things in common, too. All people, including people with disabilities, want to have friends, be shown respect and be accepted. Encourage your child to embrace the differences of others and find common ground, as well. If your child is interested in a popular television show, book, toy or game, chances are a person with special needs is, too. Ask them what they love to do.   Upcoming veterinarian appointments can be stressful for both the owner and the pet, but with a little preparation and tools, you and your pet can learn how to make a stressful vet, become a pleasant one. Because stress creates signal road blocks in the brain. Pets are happier when they're started about as a puppies or kittens. Beginning with a calming environment and veterinary team, helps both the owner and the pet build confidence for a life long relationship. However, adult or senior pets with fears and anxieties related to care, doesn't mean theirs no cure. There can still be help. Ways to help relax your pet is a crate or carrier, being placed within the carrier and out using different body parts, such as soothing the sides. These are ways to make it a relaxation for the pet and the owner.  Spraying some calming oil or spray can also help. Fleas! Just seeing the word makes me want to itch. Fleas, Mites, Lice and Ticks love making a home on the skin of a animal or human and call it their new home to start mating.  Once they have placed up the welcome sign, we start seeing itching and scratching then comes the skin irritation caused by the flea bites.  Some pets have also been known to chew off patches of fur to get to the skin where you can find red, irritated bumpy or even crusty areas where a possible allergy your pet shows or irritation. This is known as flea allergy dermatitis or FAD. Adult female fleas can start to lay eggs within a day of making herself home with a bite. Eggs can drop off the pet and become concentrated in the pet's favorite spots along with flea dirt. Within the eggs hatch, the larvae feed on the flea dirt and then enter a cocooned stage.
